Which images are available?
To see thumbnails of the photos from our collection which are available for publication, please search our Collections database. Most of these photographs are under references RD/13/4, RD/18/2 and RD/21/2/1.

Copyright
The Museum owns copyright ONLY on those images which are watermarked with the Museum logo. The rest of the images in our database are (c) RDNL (as shown in the watermarks) and the copyright for them is managed by Dahl and Dahl Ltd, the company which manages Roald Dahl's copyrights throughout the world.

Fees
For supply of a publication-quality image: £10 + VAT per image.
Publication rights (Museum-copyright images only): £250 + VAT for use on a cover; £100 + VAT for internal use.
Publication rights for © RDNL images: contact Dahl and Dahl Ltd, throught the Museum.

Placing an order:
Please contact collectionqueries@roalddahlmuseum.org with details of the images you would like to use. Please provide the following information about your publication:
territory for distribution, print run and how the images will be used.  Include a full postal address for our invoice.

You will then receive an order form/copyright declaration to sign and confirm that all the details are correct. For non-Museum-copyright images, we can let you know who to contact to arrange permission and fees for publication.

Delivery times
We aim to complete orders for images within 10 working days after a signed order has been received. Smaller files can be sent by e-mail, but large orders will be despatched on CD. Please allow extra time for a CD to reach you.

Photos of Roald Dahl taken by professional photographers
There are many other photographs of Roald Dahl in our collection which were taken by professional photographers. We do not hold the copyright to these images, so they are not displayed on our site. However, we do have descriptions of the prints in our collection on our database, and we can give further details of the photographer(s) concerned. Many of them have a greater selection of images in their own files than we do. The links on the right will take you to the websites of several photographers who have images of Roald Dahl in their files.
