We are delighted to announce Paula Metcalf as our new Illustrator in Residence.

In her new role, Paula will be undertaking a range of outreach projects within schools and community groups plus runnning some wondercrump workshops here at the Museum during February half term and on World Book Day next year.

Paula was writing and illustrating from a young age. She won Young Animator of the year in 1990 and went on to study illustration at degree and MA level in Cambridge. On finishing her MA, Paula signed a three book deal with Macmillan and has been creating books for them ever since.

Examples of Paula's work include Mabel's Magic Garden, Our Stripy Baby and We Love Bunk Beds.
