Sustainability

Here at the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre we are delighted to welcome visitors from all over the UK and the world. However, by running a museum, we consume the earth’s resources, producing waste products and carbon emissions.

We believe that we should all protect and conserve our environment, reduce our consumption of resources and thereby our waste and carbon emissions. Because of our efforts, we have recently been awarded a Gold Green Tourism Award by the Green Tourism Business Scheme.

If you would like to know more about the beautiful Chiltern Countryside that we are located in, please visit 'Chilterns - An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' at www.chilternsaonb.org where you can view walking routes and download maps.

You can also join 'The Chiltern Society' at www.chilternsociety.org.uk, which was founded in 1965 in response to concerns about the future of the Chilterns. They also run a programme of free walks, cycle rides and photography expeditions.
