Great for visitors with SEND and their friends and families. Museum sounds will be turned down and visitor numbers on this day will be reduced to help everyone experience the Museum in a more relaxed environment. SEND resources including Explorer Kits and Quiet Space Kits will be available to borrow for free.
Sensory Storytelling
Included with admission.
Enjoy sensory storytelling where George’s Marvellous Medicine will be brought to life with visual prompts, objects, sound, movement and smells.
Storytelling will take place at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm.
Curious Concoctions Clay rooms
£5 per maker.
Mould, sculpt and shape some clay into a marvellous creation. Inspired by the journey George took around his Grandma’s home and the unexpected ingredients he discovered, you’ll design your own room out of clay, complete with all sorts of curious concoctions. You’ll discover more about the book before getting stuck in with the clay. Expect messy hands, magical shapes, and a whole lot of imagination bubbling over.
Workshops will take place at 10.30am, 12pm, 1.30pm, and 3pm.

We recommend booking in advance for this event as spaces are limited.

We have a number of sensory backpack and explorer kits available for you to borrow. Please watch the video below for more details.
Please note under 18s must have an adult with them at all time.
