Other food and drink options

Picnics
Feel free to bring your own food into the Museum. You can enjoy this in our picnic room or outside in the courtyard. There’s also a big park called the Buryfield (with two playgrounds!) just a few minutes’ walk away which is perfect for picnics. Just ask a staff member to point you in the right direction.

Local cafes
There’s a huge choice of cafes and pubs on our doorstep within a short walk or drive. If you fancy a bite to eat on the way home or want to pop out for a bit during your visit, take a look at our Local Area page for inspiration.

Shop

The Museum shop stocks all the Roald Dahl books, souvenirs, games and gifts you could wish for! You can also browse and buy Roald Dahl products online. Look out for special edition books only available to buy from the Museum.

Loos

The Museum has a block of loos divided into male and female (watch out, these loos might talk to you while you’re in there!). There are also two unisex loos by the café kiosk, one of which is accessible. There’s also a larger unisex accessible toilet by the Story Centre.

Accessibility

The Museum has level access with wide doors, except for a small step to one of our eating/activity spaces (a ramp is available) and our upstairs rooms which can be reached by a lift. We have two accessible loos and hearing loops at the tills. There’s lots more information on our Access page including our Access Policy, photos and videos. If you have any questions about access please email us hello@roalddahlmuseum.org or call 01494 892192.

If you would like to call us using the Next Generation Text Service (NGT) service please call 18001 01494 892192.
