Find out all you need to know about the Museum's SEND programme for schools and groups.
SEND schools and groups are very welcome here at the Museum. We offer a range of options including self-led visits at quieter times, adapted school sessions and free resources and SEND kits. We’re also launching a brand new SEND offer later in the year, so watch this space!
We offer self-led group slots on Thursdays and Fridays from 11.15am to 12.30pm or in the afternoon from 2pm in Buckinghamshire term-time. These timings are to work around our facilitated school programme and are timed to be when the galleries should be quieter for groups. Groups visiting for a self-led session can access all the Museum galleries which include Boy, Solo and the interactive Story Centre. Your group will also be able to access the Crafty Kitchen where students can complete various activity sheets.
The cost of a self-led SEND visit is £5.95 per person. All essential carers are free of charge and we offer free teacher places at a ratio of 1:8 students. Your group will be able to use the public picnic room as part of your visit. To enquire about booking a visit please click here.
Facilitated school sessions
The schools programme can be adapted in liaison with a school to meet the requirements of a SEND group. We run onsite and livestream sessions and more information can be found about these here. These sessions are charged per session rather than per student and range from £100 to £240 depending on the type. To enquire about booking a session please click here.
