Roald Dahl Ramble: Fantastic Mr Fox

Sunday 28 September

Book today
Join us for family walk with a difference with homemade cake and speciality tea and coffee on your return.

Treat the family to a walk in the woods, with cake and coffee after! The perfect activity for kids and adults alike. Head off into the woods that inspired so many of the stories with your storytelling guide, Michael.

You’ll walk in Roald’s footsteps through the very wood he imagined Fantastic Mr Fox living in. Spot the signs of late summer and autumn and use your tree identifier to pick out the best tree for your fox den.

Perfect for celebrating the changing seasons, you’ll learn about how the story was created and listen to extracts from the book as you go.

Afterward you’ll head back to the Museum for refreshments that include your choice of homemade cake and a speciality tea, coffee or Rumsey’s hot chocolate.

For age 6 and over.
£10 per person plus Museum entry

Food and drink

You choice of refreshments will come from The Filling-Station at the Museum. Our hot drinks and cakes are all from specially selected local producers. You can find out more on our Filling-Station page.

Walk route

The walk leads you out of the Museum along pavements past the old, characterful buildings of Great Missenden.  We walk up to Angling Spring Wood and along paths that might be muddy. There is a steep section in the wood. Please bring appropriate sturdy footwear.

The walk lasts about 50 to 60 minutes.

Children must be accompanied by a paying adult.
