Birthday parties at the Roald Dahl Museum

Give your child a birthday party bursting with imagination, stories, and a touch of mischief! At the Roald Dahl Museum, we turn special days into unforgettable adventures inspired by the world’s greatest storyteller.

Our parties are perfect for young fans of Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, and more. Every celebration is packed with hands-on fun in a friendly, welcoming setting.

What’s Included?

Each party includes:

  • Exclusive use of a party room for three hours.
  • Time to explore the interactive Museum galleries.
  • Exclusive storytelling session for your group.
  • Printable invitations to get the word out.
  • A small Roald Dahl gift for the birthday child.
  • Plenty of photo-worthy moments!

£175 for up to 12 children.

This includes:

  • Two free supervising adult tickets (additional adults must pay for a £13.95 general admission ticket).
  • Three hours in the party room (11am to 2pm).
  • Access to the Museum galleries.
  • An exclusive storytelling session.
  • Gift for the birthday child.

 

You have use of a party room for three hours. This room can function as your eating space and can accommodate up to 12 children, plus their adults (two supervising adult tickets included in the booking – extra adults must purchase a £13.95 admission ticket).

 

  • Bring your own food and cake, or ask us for details of local caterers.
  • The room has a sink and tap water is available.
  • Heating and air-conditioning make the room comfortable whatever the weather.
  • You’re welcome to bring your own decorations.

Your exclusive, private storytelling session will take place in our Wondrous Woods room and will last for around 25 minutes.

Our expert storyteller will entertain your group with an interactive and energetic rendition of one of Roald Dahl’s best-loved books. This session will be exclusive to your group.

You can choose from Matilda or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We also offer a SEND-friendly sensory storytelling from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

 

 

Bring along your own birthday cake and party food, or we can recommend local catering options. You can also order hot drinks and treats from our Filling-Station kiosk while you’re here.

Make your party extra-special with some added extras.

Party bags

We can supply you with party bags for your guests to take home. These contain goodies from the Museum shop, plus a child free entry voucher to use at a later date. Just let us know if you’d like us to supply these and we can talk you through the options and prices.

Cake

Order a birthday cake from our specialist local cake suppliers. Get in touch for details of sizes and prices.

Parties are available on selected selected term-time weekends and are suitable for children aged 5 to 12.
