My Year Walk – July

Sunday 28 July

Book today
Embrace the seasons on a guided Roald Dahl countryside walk

Ramble through the countryside and listen to extracts from Roald Dahl’s My Year in the beautiful woods and fields that inspired the book.

This month we’ll be reading extracts from the July chapter of My Year, Roald Dahl’s last book. In this chapter Roald talks about some of the adventures he got up to in the summer holidays when he was a boy “Preparing to go off on your summer holidays is one of the best moments of the entire year when you are young. Have a great time.”

£4 per person in addition to Museum entry

Option to pre-order a hot drink and scone to be waiting for you on your return for an extra £6 per person – please order by midday Thurs 25 July by emailing hello@roalddahlmuseum.org.

Walk route

The My Year walk leads you across fields and into Angling Spring Wood. There is a short, steep uphill section and a short, steel downhill section. Paths are unmade and may be muddy.  Please wear appropriate, sturdy footwear. Not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs.

“Great to walk in the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside and listen to Michael talk about the life and work of Dahl and read from his diary. Excellent morning. Thank you”
