Great Missenden lies in the hearts of the Chilterns in the Misbourne Valley, surrounded by beautiful countryside and rolling hills. The village has a long history;  It was granted a charter to hold an annual fair in the twelfth century and the Augustinian monastery, Missenden Abbey, was founded in 1133. The historic High Street features a wealth of beautiful old and listed buildings including 15th century coaching inns from when the village was part of the route between London and the Midlands. St Peter and St Paul Church overlooks the village and dates from the 14th century.
